As we wrap up the quarter we have some things to do. Here's a task list of things we'll be doing today to sharpen or gain new skills. If you have a missing test or STAR test I'll come tell you to do that first.

2. Card Sharks
3. Red Remover
4. Just for fun
5. Complete your mastery challenges on Khan
6. Complete any missing or overdue Big Ideas Assignments

This blog started as a math tool when I was a middle school math teacher, I've moved to other career options now and will broaden out the content. Welcome.

Pyramids and More
The first thing we are going to do today is a STAR test check-up before the end of the quarter to see if there are any areas that we need to go back for and how much we have improved.
Yesterday we talked about the Luxor in Las Vegas and it's mathematical attributes. Here are the two examples of pyramids that we're covering this week.
There is a small assignment to practice finding the surface area of the pyramids. There are examples below to use as a reference.

Wow, how fast has this week gone?
Let me give you the rundown on the past few days.
Monday - We had a guest speaker named Vanilla Thunder, we worked on data collection, measurements, and many other standards for statistics. Ask someone who was in class on that day and I think they'll tell you a pretty cool story.
Tuesday and Wednesday - We started on geometry with isometric dot paper.
Thursday we are going to see what we've learned by doing an online big ideas assignment to check out progress.
Friday - Will be something hopefully active and geometry related. :)
