1. First go to www.bigideasmath.com and complete the short assignment there.
Sign into your Khanacademy.org account and come back to click on the following link:
Task #5 - Challenge problems

Notice the Key in the bottom right corner, it shows that the tens digit stays to the left and the ones digit goes to the right. Another example is: 56 would be 5|6 78 would be 7|8, get it?
I’m glad you understand it now, let’s move to something else.
Task #2
IXL Practice
Go to this link http://www.ixl.com/math/grade-5/stem-and-leaf-plots

State Testing and other stuff
Today is the second of two testing days in Cares classes. For math yesterday we played a game called Take-Back-Toe. It's a mix of mancala, backgammon, and tic-tac-toe. There are simple rules, feel free to ask your child about it. You can pretty much play anywhere with any objects.
In math today we are going to be using some statistical questions to play a version of family feud. Should be interesting.
Friday is Earth Day, so no math.
Monday we'll begin the last chapter of the year focusing on probability and how to display data.

Some review activities and a practice test
Welcome to Friday!
We are going to do some tasks today and I'll keep the time so you know when to switch.
1. Please complete the following survey to help me make plans for the rest of the year.
2. www.bigideasmath.com
We are going to try the practice test, you'll find it on the Big Ideas Math website. Just log in and start. There should be a calculator available on the page, but if not, use the computer, a calculator from the front, or you could even use your phone. (just remember to use the technology for educational purposes)
3. www.khanacademy.org
Go to Khan Academy and complete all mastery challenges. If you have no challenges, choose any 6th grade skill. We have covered about 90% of the skills so far, so you should be able to do pretty much all 6th grade skills.
4. Finally, for the final minutes you may choose your own activity (math related or logic skills) to complete the day.
Congratulations, you've just practice and worked on your math skills and are much more intelligent because of it. Woo Hoo!

When you are done please complete the following before moving on to other tasks:

2. Next we are working on range. Please complete the one Khanacademy task that I recommended Interquartile Range (IQR)
3. Complete any mastery challenges that you have.
