Chapter 2: Fractions and Decimals

Today we pre-test and start learning about fractions and decimals.  More specifically we are going to multiply and divide fractions and mixed numbers.  Then, we will start to work with all decimal operations later in the chapter.  This unit should take about three to four weeks, in that time start to talk about fractions and decimals at home.  If you have any examples you've talked about and want to share, please email me or comment on this post.

For example: "We were getting gas last night and noticed there were decimals on the pumps, so we figured out how many miles per gallon we got as a family."
